Q: i have a 07 Audi A4 Avant. How can i run my ipod through the stereo?
The car did not come with the ipod adapter. I assume I will have to go to a car audio shop?

A: chris, actualy there are several options you can try with out purchasing a whole new stereo. first and probobly the easiest, is get the fm adapter for the ipod. what this does is plays the ipod over a fm freq that your car stereo will pick up and play. the next option is to gte a "pre out" cable. most car stereos have an input and output for preouts to an amp, just get the cable and plug it into the input side and your in business (the plus part of this is that it is the same cable that will let you run your ipod to the tv or home stereo). with out seeing the stereo it is hard for me to tell you all the options, but with the whole ipod craze there are many options and accessories to do just about anything. if you do go with a new stereo though, most of them come with ipod conectors alread and some (in the $400 and up range) can play video of your ipod as well. a big thing i learned a long time ago when i started installing stereos was"you get what you pay for" so if you want the job done right and you want the best possible outcome than yes you do want to go to a stereo shop, if you are on a budget and are looking for a good salution than i recomend the fm converter. hope this helps.

Q: audi a4 avant ,why are my front wipers coming on with my ignition ?
when the car is started the wipers start up on there own and run for a short period.they never stop in the normal position ,e,g,they stop either vertical or in the field of vision.

A: Sounds like dodgy wiring. Or maybe you just flick the stalk when you start the ignition, they are quite sensitive and have a second sweep to catch the drips. Another thought, do you have rain sensitive wipers? In this lovely summer we're having it would be eay for them to get confused!

Q: Urgent: Where is the fuse box situated on an Audi A4 Avant?
He's stranded with no lights they ain't where they say they are in the book. Trying opposite end of dash bit of a panic. He is limping home with some lights the mechanic was unreliable so he rushed the job himself since he needed the trailer in a hurry. He's not too far now he is not a happy bunny he is only 15 miles away and not 45.

A: Open the drivers door and there is a removable panel in the end of the dash. Fuses are under this panel.

Q: How much will it cost to get my 07 Audi a4 avant quattored?

A: You would need a new gearbox, new back axle, new drive shaft and Haldex coupling, new suspension at the rear, the inner wings of the car and rear sub-frame, likely as not will be unsuitable. In short, forget it. I am at a loss as to why you would even want to covert the car in the first place. The car will be slightly less potent, use more fuel, additionally, you will be obliged to tell your Insurance who would likely ramp up your premium because of the changes

Q: how do you change the steering rack on an audi A4 avant?
I have removed the track rod ends, the bolt under the break servo and the one under the battery holder.I have removed the plastic cover under the wheel arch to gain acess to the hydraulic couplings.Looking at the replacement rack there is provision for a third bolt centrally positioned I cannot see how to gain access to this from under the car without removing the gear box.Any sugestions would be greatfully recieved ,

A: cut the strings first..

Q: Audi A4 avant cigarette lighter fuse?
I have a 2004 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T. I managed to blow the fuse to the cigarette lighter. Can someone please tell me where this fuse is located in the fuse box because i need to replace it. Thanks

A: Exactly what JT said. However, if you really need to know. The fuse box is to the far left end of the dash closest to the door.

Q: How do you change the rear light brake bulb on an Audi A4 Avant (03)..where do I get the bulb from?

A: The Audi just uses the normal single filament bulb you can buy from any accessory shop.if you open the tailgate there is a small cap in the plastic trim in the tailgate aperture, behind which is a single screw.Remove the screw,it is about 2 inches long, then hold the lamp cluster and pull it outwards towards the side of the car.It may take a little 'working' & be careful not to chip the edge of the lens against the panelwork.Should take no more than 5mins.Cheers

Q: Should I buy the Audi Avant A4 automatic?
I'm curious to know what people who drive this car think of it.

A: Audi's are fantastic. They have highest ratings in crash tests and their technology is unsurpassed by anything else. They will last for darn near ever if you just adhere to the maintenance schedule, and have an extended factory warranty unlike any other car manufacturer. They won't rust, unless improperly repaired after an accident. They have the finest sound systems available without customization. Their MPG ratings are always higher than the sticker says. They were engineered to run at Autobahn speeds safely and are more sure-footed than anything thanks to their all wheel drive technology. They are easy to modify for higher HP, if you like, and have a reputation for kicking a** in Euro car races. They are one of, if not THE, best cars out there. The only thing better is an Audi you buy at a discount.

Q: how do i take the rear light clusters off my 02 plated audi a4 avant to change the brake light?

A: Look inside the trunk. There us usually easy access inside the trunk to change light bulbs in the rear lights. You might not even need any tools to do it.

Q: how do i program my spare keys - audi a4 avant?
All my spare keys are not starting my car, they lock and unlock. can i program these myself or do i need to go to a garage. the manual does not say anything.

A: you can't do it yourself on that car, you'll have to go to the dealer, some keyless remotes you can do yourself but others you can, yours you cant, i looked on a site that tells how to program the keyless remote fobs http://www.programyourremote.com/

Q: 98 audi a4 avant fwd slightly bent rear axle?
I have a 98 FWD audi a4 avante and notice that the passenger side rear wheel is slightly bent outward, it drive nice but is a little sloppy on choppy road. What are my repair options, cost estimates, likely conditions, and can I do it myself. I have plenty of tools and a place to park it indoors for a few day if need be.

A: Theres really no rear axle. The hub is just mounted to the suspension. If it were me, I would look for something thats bent or worn. As far as doing things yourself, the rear end on these cars are really simple, should be a breeze if you can find whats busted. Also, might be a bent wheel.

Q: how do i get to the car radio in my audi a4 avant?

A: Look inside ur ass

Q: which is better, a top spec 2.0cdti New Vauxhall Insignia tourer, or a low-mid spec New Audi A4 Avant?
my dads pcp ends on his A6 avant in November but he cannot decide between them as they both look really nice. do you think Vauxhall quality is still just as bad as their older cars even though the New Insignia is designed and made is Germany?

A: I understand that the new Vauxhall Insignia is a very good car but I would prefer the devil I know. We have run Audi A4 TDI Avants for some six years and our present car is great to drive, economical, has plenty of power and looks fantastic.

Q: I have a 98 audi a4 2.8 avant and the rear passenger side wheel is canted on the vertical axis?
Basically the wheel is not perfectly straight up and down. When I go over bumps on the passenger side the car bucks and pulls right. Is this wheel the cause of that, and how do I fix it? Thanks people of the world.

A: First, if you have a quattro I would advise you to be extremely careful where you take your Audi for service. More than half of the vehicles I see come into service for tire issues are caused by the improper alignment or balance of a tire. With a quattro there can be serious damage if you put the vehicle on an alignment machine that is for front/two wheel drive machine. I would call your local Audi service department and speak with one of the service writers. It is free to call, and they can advise you as to what they think the problem is, and then if there is any action needed to solve the problem they are more than happy to help you find a solution.
