Q: How much should i have paid from a dealer for a 1994 Audi Avant CS Quattro 212K?
can I legally claim the excess $ asked ( i.e. over pricing ) or return the car all together for lack of professionnalism and honesty? I have found out that even though the car is in pristine condition, I might have been overcharged by a local dealer I though I could trust to make me a fair price. With taxes dealer preparation etc I paid 10,400.00$+ Cdn. My research brought me prces like 4.450.00 US
A: You can find out what the real value is by going to www.kbb.com (Kelly blue book). At this site you can get trade in value, individual sales, and retail values for most vehicles. You just have to answer a few questions about the condition and the accessories.
Q: how do you change the front turn signal bulb on an 1999 audi avant wagon?
A: You should have the 1 piece headlights on the 99, which means you'll probably have to take them out to get to the turn signal. There are just a couple bolts to pull out and it slides right out. The signal then turns needs a quarter turn to come out and there is the bulb.
Q: How can I turn off the seatbelt warning in my Audi Avant?
I
A: You can't as there is no option in the main coding to change this. When the sensors for the passenger seat is activited it requires the seat belt to be in place. You could unplug the sensor and it will not pull a fault code. The driver side has smart logic and will not let you disable this feature you could only hard wire the sensor on.
Why do people say you have to have a seatbelt on, no mention of use was made by the asker. Please answer the Q's not your interpretation.
Q: Audi Avant Estate Advice?
I was considering buying an Audi Avant estate 2002 from a dealer. It has one problem he told me about, the airbag control panel stays on. He said he can get it fixed and have the car MOTed.
1.How can I check the problem has been completely fixed.
2.Can it be expensive.
3. Is this a common fault with this type of car.
Thanks.
A: I guess you mean the airbag control panel light stays on and this is reported in blogs for many audis not just the avant or this year. Depending on the exact fault, some of the airbag system would not function in case of an accident which means possibly the drivers bag or the passengers bag would not fire off and ...... probable injury. Often it seems to be put down to loose wiring connections on older audis and there is a software VAG.COM needed to get a full analysis. If a dealer said he fixed it and for any reason you doubted it, try another dealer or even the AA or RAC for a second opinion. I once had a Rover which kept on going to failsafe on the ABS and I had to threaten Rover to give my money back if they couldnt fix it before they found a way. What purpose to buy a car with safety features if the feature is not 100% functional?
Q: Audi Avant Etatae?
I am looking to buy an Audi avant eatate. I have about £10,000 which would have to include my 1999 renault megan as a trade in so I need to go through a dealer.I know little about cars. What could I expect for that sort of money, I'm not too hung up sports models, just like the look of the a4 estate.
Should I be influenced by the number of miles driven, service histroy, should I get the AA to check the cars first, what sort of ballpark figure could I expect fot the Renault? I live in Northern Ireland and more than likely have to go accross the water to get a car.
Lots of questions but I would really appreciate your feed back.Thanks.
A: Ok a Renault Megane 1999 model has a range of engines from 1.4 - 2.0 You'll be looking from £600-£1500 depending on engine (Coupes can get £2000) Lower end of the price is the 1.4/1.6, top end 1.9dci models.
Now as for Audi, you'll get a 52/03 plate with 70k miles and SE spec for £7500-£8500. Looking for better spec and best engine would be a 2.0T FSi which will cost about £10,000 upwards (for 54 plater) More spec more £££'s. You'll be better crossing the lake to get a better deal on yours, and buy new model. You can get AA check but buy from Audi Franchised dealer, and you'll not need to. Look for lesser engine (1.8 SE) on 55/06 for £11,500 and there will be warrenty left to run too.
Its up to you, but I like the diesel range, and would push the budget to £13000 for a decent average mileage diesel model.
Mileage is just a figure nowadays, cars see in 200,000 miles easily as long as they are serviced regular, and by trained Audi technitions.
Hope this is useful information and Good Luck.

Q: 1995 Audi avant 2.8 12v whining, sucking niose?
Hi, I have a 1995 Audi avant 2.8 12v with 150,000 miles on it. I was wondering if anyone knows what this noise is. The noise seems to be coming from the right side of the engine, but I am not sure. It sounds to me like a vacuum noise it’s like a whining, and is most noticeable at idle. I also noticed every time I turn the engine off it makes a sucking noise for about 1 second. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks.
A: you need to check your vacuum lines bro. i had the same prob
Q: My remote control on my Audi died. How can I reset it once I replace the battery?
1996 Audi Avant Wagon.
Quattro.
Thank You for your help.
note I do not want to go to the dealer. An spend $100 to reset my remotes.
A: There is a specific sequence you need to follow, as far as holding the button and putting the other key in the ignition. I don't remember it, but get on the forum at audiworld.com, and you will have many Audi techs answer your question...
Q: Will the interior wiring loom from a 1.9 audi avant fit into a 2.5 avant??????????????
Hi all, I previously left a message about my a4 avant, its a 2004 model 2.5 v6 tdi, we had an internal fire and wiring looms are damaged, I just cant seem to find any of the same model, they seem to be soooooooooo rare!?, does anyone know if the INTERIOR loom from the same year avant but a 1.9 model will fit to my car, hubby seems to think yes, its only engine loom that would be different, but im not sure???, someone help PLEASE!!!, and if you are breaking this car anywhere, please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A: Definitely yes because they have the same wires.
Q: my car radio has a lot of static and its annoying me, audi a4 avant concert 2 stereo, cheers?
A: Get the aerial amplifier checked they do occasionally fail.
Q: do you think i should buy an audi a4 avant 2nd hand from a main dealer around the 2002 age?
A: Make sure the car has had its timing belt changed at every 80k kilometers, or consider having that done if you purchase.
Q: Does a 1999 2.8L Audi Avant Wagon have an "interference" engine?
A: Yes it defiantly does.Own and work on Audis.
Q: BMW M5 Touring and Audi RS6 Avant?
Am I the only one who finds these two cars highly impractical/unnecessary? I mean, who the hell needs a station wagon with 580hp??? A soccer mom who likes to drift while driving her kids to school?
A: It is for the dad's who want Porsche's, Ferrari's, and Lamborghini's while having children at the same time.
They use the car on trips and for racing.
Q: Audi Avant A4 wont start 1.8 1996 131000 miles?
Bought the car 3 days ago, all fine, filled it to the brim with shell V-super unleaded drove home 2 miles switched it off, started playing with the blower controls ( because they did not seem to be working) so turned ignition half way to get the power on and blowers fired up , so then turned ignition all the way on to make sure they still worked and the engine would not start .
checked fuses all fine, feels like an immobiliser problem as the key feels like it shouild turn more but the light fot the immobiliser comes on and goes out like it should.
on the dash the amber fuel light is on and the 3 red warning lights for oil temp and brakes are continuously flashing.
A: Warning lights flashing when the ignition is on is normal
for VAG vehicles
Is yours an automatic
if so it may be an inhibitor switch fault
if it is an auto it will only start in neutral or park
hope this helps a little bit
Q: Advice on Audi A4 avant estate?
I am looking to buy second hand Audi, P reg. Went to look at it and did a test drive. Engine sounded fine but there was trouble starting it - When I turned ignition engine started but then died, tried this 5 or 6 times, when the seller started car this didn't happen. Did I flood engine (not used to Audis) or does this sound dodgy? I don't know any mechanics and can't afford inspection test.
I was pressing the throttle - only used to driving old bangers. Would this cause engine to die?
its also petrol not diesel
A: You should always start with your foot off the throttle putting your foot on will cause problems starting .The other fault they had in 1966 model year was problems with the key reader attached to your ignition lock.Read the hand book regarding starting .Regards Mick Own and work on Audis.UK
