Q: I am thinking of buying a 2000 Audi A4 quatro. Car looks clean problem is that it has 106K mi, any thought?
I am looking to replace my old car (I have a 95 nissan altima which runs fine is starting to give me troub). I have seen a 2000 Audi A4 quatro which looks really good and the price is good too. However, the car has 106K miles and I am afraid of the maintenace costs. Does anyone have any info about the reliablity of these A4's or any (rough) estimate of the repair costs?

A: Try edmunds.com German car parts are expensive compared to domestic and Japanese cars. However audi makes a very reliable car. 106k should be fine. For a 2000 it sounds like mostly highway miles which is better.

Q: How Long Does and Audi A4 Quatro Last?
I'm looking into buying a 1998 Audi A4 Quatro. It has 160XXX miles. How long does a car like that usually last? (How many miles)

A: Depends on how well it has been taken care of by the prior owner or owners. Take the car to an independent mechanic before you buy. He/she should tell you if it was taken care of properly.

Q: Hi. How much does it cost to repair an exhaust leak & a bad rear wheel bearing in a 1998 Audi A4 Quatro?

A: Audi parts can get expensive. An educated guess would be about 150$ for the bearing. It's an easy job so it shouldn't cost to much for installation. As far as the exhaust it could be a 6$ gasket or a 100$ muffler. I have no Idea.

Q: Should i get an Audi A4 quatro or Acura TSX?
I would appreciate reasons for which one you choose and or pros and cons to each ones or even personal experiences with one the cars. Thank You. I forgot to add in the question that both cars will be 2008 models. I would appreciate reasons for which one you choose and or pros and cons to each ones or even personal experiences with one the cars. Thank You.

A: I agree with the previous poster- ifunewwh. I would avoid both vehicles for several reasons. Although the Acura TSX has rock soild reliability, it is front wheel drive and honestly, the AWD Audi will out drive the TSX, especially in bad weather. Audi's in general have horrific reliability records which partly account for their poor depreciation rates- only a few points above Hyundai and Kia. Do you want to shell out serious cash for a vehicle that will hold less than 1/2 its value in three years? Another factor to consider is that Audi makes changes to their models every two years which means this years model (2007) is already outdated next year. Additionally, take a look at Consumer affairs and read the horror stories about Audi's reliability and high maintenance costs. If you do you may save yourself some serious money and trouble. On the other hand, I would highly recommend the 2008 Cadillac CTS. It was just awarded the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year award and beat out the Audi A5/S5 among many other cars which people highly praise. In my opinion, test driving the CTS will change your opinion about all vehicles- you will not believe it to be an American car and better yet, a fully loaded AWD CTS 3.6L costs as much as an Audi A4, stripped BMW 335i/528i or MB C350- and it has far more interior space and technology (ie- a 40 GB hard drive for movies, pictures and music, built in USB/iPod connection, Bluetooth etc etc etc) Or for something very surprising, test drive the Lincoln MKS. Super looks and AWD like the CTS. Just passing along some info you may find useful.

Q: Is it ok to drive your 2003 audi quatro..auto transmission in sport mode all the time?
I dont want to kill my trans, but i do like driving in sport mode a lot....anyone use it on there audi's?

A: You won't hurt it. Sport mode just keeps you in the lower gear a bit longer. It does cost more fuel, so be mindful of that. Also, don't run your engine too hard if it is cold.

Q: Why is my 99 A4 Audi Quatro turning into a money pit? It is sucking me dry, and I owe $6000 on it still?
I bought the car in June of 06. Over the last few months, I have dumped over 2 g's in this thing, and there are still mass problems with it. Now as of this afternoon, the car is overheating, the suspention is toast, one of the fuel sensors are bad, a relay needs to be replaced, cruise and brights dont work, and I owe $6000 on this car still. It is a beautiful car, I love it to death, but I am at the point where I am going to buy another Ford Explorer, and sink the Audi in the Mississippi in front of my house....HELP ME! ANY ADVICE? Will the car eventually stop having things go wrong with it or is it just a huge money pit that I am going to shoot myself in the head over in another year?

A: It always hurts me to see folks like yourself who are in this position. An excellent answer to this dilemna is above mine (Walter G). I couldn't say it better. BMW, Audi and VW (even some Mercedes models) have a perceived reputation for reliabilty that just isn't true. Initially these cars run beautifully but at a certain point they just start falling apart. And the cost of repairs will eat you alive. The big three Japanese auto makers have a stellar reputation for reliabilty and long life. Even domestic autos (Chrysler, Ford, and GM) have come a LONG way towards quality and reliabilty over the past 20 years. Having said all of this, if you want to shop for cars based on "prestige" then you better get used to spending lots of cash on upkeep.

i cant buy it in career mode and its not in the "my cars" section oh and btw im on a xbox360 you can answer me there if you want my tag is lynk421

A: most of the extra cars in nfscarbon you cannot modify. the camaro the extra lambo the audi, most of them are stuck the way they are. some of the unlock cars from the challenge series and the cards can be customized but not all

Q: need speakers for 98 audi quatro?
what speakers can i buy? i have a walmart gift card for 50 bucks. I want them to be loud. can i get a subwoofer also. and how do i install them? thanks!

A: Your head unit is going to be what makes them loud, and your going to need to spend more than fifty bucks to buy anything thats not paper. The stock system is probably your best bet on a limited budget. If you still want to swap them out you should remove them first so you see how they mount, they are a little different then generic speakers.

Q: audi tt quatro cd player code needed! car battery went flat, the cd player doesnt work?
anyone know what code i can enter please. Do i need to buy one?

A: Go to the dealer, they will have to pull the radio and get the serial number off the back of it. They have access to the factory database that stores these numbers. No other code will work except for the one hard coded into your radio.

Q: Why audi's quatro not necessary.?
Hi everybody, So i am trying to prove to my friend who is an audi fanatic that audis quatro is unncessary and not worth the added weight. I wont argue that it will help in snowy, rainy, icy conditions, but I believe that the added weight slows the car and boggs down the ride. Not to mention with todays traction control systems, quatro is all but unneeded. I was looking for anyone who agrees with me to give me any more info that would help me prove my friend wrong. Thanks a lot

A: My Audi's a quattro and I could never imagine driving a 2wd again! I mean sure you make decent points but its so good in the snow and adds more value to the car!

Q: Problem is with the turbo on a '91 Audi 200 quatro. I've heard one possibility is the electronic controls?
The turbo works at low boost but the fuel / air mixture get so messed up at or above .5 the car almost stalls out or barely runs. It's not a leak in any of the intake tubing it's been checked twice.

A: This doesn't sound like a turbo problem (if there are no leaks), but a fuel delivery problem.

Q: why my audi allroad quatro lifts itself when I lock the car?

A: Because you've got the suspension set to Sport mode which is lowered. To prevent damage to the suspension it reverts back to standard mode when you leave the car. It eases pressures in the dampers. Its not faulty - its meant to do that.

Q: Who agrees that an Audi TT Quatro is the best looking car ever?

A: I don't know about ever But it is okay but so far you have the best male looking avatar ever!
