Q: Where can I buy a driver and passenger sun shade like some VW and Audi has?
For mother's day, I want to to purchase a sun shade for my mother's Jeep Compass. The sun shade I am talking about is the type that you can roll up or down depending on the location on the driver and passenger window.
The VW Touraeg has it and some Audi's have it as well.

A tire fell on the hood of an 2004 Audi creating a 4" oval dent (.25" deep) about 2' from front. What is a ballpark estimate to repair this?
A: from 200-500, and on a less expensive side if it tends to be a friend of a friend and it was not done at the dealership. Please note that not all dents can be corrected but if this is a typicall dent on a flat surface should be no problem.

A: open the bonnet and right at the top under the air con vents you have the battery under a cover (please note that only mechanics or audi mechanics can take it out as you have to dismantle the entire air vent system

A: Is it an Audi A8L W12. It has a 6.0 liter W12 Engine (basically two 3 liter V6s bolted together) Its not an S8 because the S8 has a V10 (from a lamborghini gallardo! =]) but the chrome is there because its the top of the line A8
The L in A8L means it has a long wheelbase which gives the backseat more legroom
its starts at about 120k..can get close to 150k with options....about 600-650 horsepower
the car in the movie is black with amaretto interior and an alcantara synthetic suede headliner. It says the model on some of the movie ads

Q: Where can I find wheels for my Audi?
I have a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro with 16" 9 spoke wheels, I am looking to replace all four of them, I know they don't include the lug nut caps or center audi logo which is fine.
I am looking at getting them cheaper than $187 a piece and NOT from ebay, not worth it. Thanks.
A: Just about any major place that sells tires are going to sell wheels. Try looking in some car magazines, they usually have full page adds for wheels.
Q: Is Audi an overrated automotive manufactuer?
Is this true? Please I want to hear from people who can actually back this up with facts - mechanics and people who actually know about the engineering of these cars. My friend has an Audi TT and at first she was like...'oh this is the best car ever!' and now she wishes she never bought it,as it has proved to be very unreliable and cash draining.
I truly believe that VW, Audi and BMW build strong powerful cars, but it would appear they are high also maintainence and have a fair share or problems. I have also never heard of Audi winning awards for 'car of the year', simple because they do not have a fantastic track record for reliablilty and customer service.
Now listen guys I would like to hear unbiased opinions, not just from audi owners who are trying to defend the car they perhaps now wished they hadn't forked out so much money on.
A: Audi has much worse engineering than BMW, but is cheaper than BMW so I guess you do get what you pay for. I worked on several Audi and BMW 5 series. Both are excellent car for driving. But when working, Audi is more difficult compare to BMW. All Audi is driven with timing belt and you have to rip out entire front end (Bumper, radiator, all the way up to the cam pulley) to replace the belt. The cost of labor is additional 3 - 4 hours compare to other cars. Dealer charges $1300 for this service (water pump replacement included) and most independent shop price isn't far off from this price.
Audi brake pads have the wear sensor embedded in them so if the something goes wrong with the sensor, you would have to replace the entire brake pads. The sensor is wrapped around a metal brake line so you would have to pry and move the brake line to pull it out. Any automotive book will tell you that you should not bend a metal brake line. Working with Audi, this is a required procedure.
Audi uses Vengine block. Problem with V block engine is that it does not give you much space to work on. To take right side of spark plugs out, the air filter and intake assembly must be completely removed. To take left side of spark plugs, coolant reservoir assembly must be removed. All that adds to additional 1 hour of work just to replace spark plugs. BMW V8 M60 engine has much more room to work on and replacing spark plugs would only take 30 minutes. Most of BMW 6 cylinder engine is in inline format so you rarely have to worry about space problem when working on them.
Q: Does your Audi have a panel attached to the underside of the back seat to stop metal touching the battery?
I have already asked a similar question but what I really want to know is if you have an audi, and the battery is housed underneath the rear passenger seat does the actual seat have a protective panel or cover attached to the underside of the seat to stop the metalwork of the seat touching the terminals of the battery. If you do have a battery housed underneath the seat I am interested to know if there is a protective panel or not and also what sort of model audi do you have?
A: There should be a moulded plastic cover to prevent this i own and work on Audi in UK.

A: Read your owner's manual. It tells you very plainly that you must use oil that meets VW/Audi specification 402/405. What does that mean??? Read the label on the back of Mobil One 0W-40 oil. This meets the requirements. I Prefer ELF oil, but it is hard to find it sometimes locally. But your own GENUINE audi filters (or MANN filters, they're the same thing) and bring your OWN oil to a quick lube at closing and ask the technician there if he will change your oil for you for $15-20. Usually they will say "yes" because they are not using anything in their stock to account for, and it's "free"money. To the guy with the Mercedes going to quick lubes, "GET WISE"!!!!!! Never use drum oil or quicky oil that does not meet genuine Mercedes specifications. You are at risk, believe me. Mercedes has it's own specification numbers that MUST be met. GET WISE!!!!!!!

A: you can not just pick any Audi, every model is different. some models you only need to push open if that does not work the lock is not releasing. some models need to be release by a release button which could be on the lf door or center console, depending on model. if the release buttons is inop. the is a emergence release cable located in the rr trunk panel. the release cable is red in color and has a loop at the end of it.

A: This I know for a fact is an original piece created just for that commercial by Nate Morgan of Eliasarts, it is called "Notes on Progress" and the commercial is titled "Progress is Beautiful"
Audi has all the music created specifically just for their commercials and they are all original.
It is a wonderful piece of music and fits the Audi commercial so well too.
