Q: tuning audi '01 A4?
Hi all. I am thinking of getting the K04 Upgrade Kit 2000-2001 tuning kit for my 2001 1.8T Audi A4 quattro. What kind of horsepower is this going to give me. Also is it safe. Does this affect the resale value of my car (not that i ever want to sell it really =) ) THANKS.
also if i got this tuning kit what else would i have to get with it? new bigger tires? brakes? don't know a lot about this stuff any info would be greatly appreciated !
btw i def't don't plan to do this myself. i would have someone do it for me at a car tuning shop in my state.
A: Best thing is to do a search on it to try to find out more information, maybe go to an Audi discussion board and see if anyone there knows about them. Here's a few sites to check out: http://www.audifans.net/ http://www.audilife.com/
Q: tuning Audi?
Can you tune manual as well as automatic cars?
A: absolutely
manual or automatic has nothing to do with the engine.
Tuners mostly work on engines and escape/exhaust systems and air kits... so the transmission is less important.
Q: do Audi have a tuning dept like Merc has AMG ?
A: Not really. nearly all of their S models and RS models are built off of factory lines- but I did find an interesting article that shows the newest RS models coming out of a company called Quattro GmbH (no relation to Audi "Quattro")
"What few people realize is that the RS4 is not actually built by Audi, but rather by Quattro GmbH, a separate company that is owned by Audi AG. These are the same people that create the S-line sport packages (not the S4 or S6 models, mind you; nor does Quattro GmbH design or build the all-wheel drive system that bears its name—yes, we are slightly confused, as well). The RS4’s assembly is unique to the current Audi lineup, requiring an entirely separate and more time-consuming [in other words, expensive] build procedure. The engines are built in Györ, Hungary, and shipped to Audi’s assembly plant in Ingolstadt, Germany, for insertion in the chassis—this differs not at all from a normal A4 or S4. But at Ingolstadt the cars receive only dummy wheels, tires and suspension setups; the soon-to-be RS4s take another trip to Neckarsulm, Germany—home to the company’s motorsports group and Quattro GmbH—where the best of Audi’s workforce receives the vehicles, installs their suspension systems, track-tests them, and gives them one final German-raised-eyebrow once-over. Each RS4 receives some twenty hours of handcrafted attention and testing in this final location. Our insider sources tell us that the final move to Neckarsulm (necessary, really, because stopping the fast-moving A4 assembly line in Ingolstadt to install special systems for a low-volume product wouldn’t be very efficient) accounts for a third of the car’s price premium over the S4."
Q: audi tune up, what parts i need to buy?
audi 2002 A4 quattro i need to make a tune up
i need to make a tune up on my car, 2002 AUDI A4 quattro 1.8 what kind a parts do i need to buy
A: Well the good part atleast is that giving a tune up to an audi is no different then giving a tune up to any other car from 2002. Your lucky enough to be equipped with an electronic distributor so really the only thing that you should need to buy are spark plugs and spark plug wires. shouldnt be more than $50 for everyhting. One other thing that I can suggest is that when you change the park plugs, pick up some boot sealant for the plugs.... just ask the guys at your local auto parts store and they will know exactly what you are talking about. I also recommend picking up a new air filter if you have not already done so. Getting more air and doing the tune up will have your car running like the day it was manufactured. Best of luck.
Q: 2004 audi a4 3.0 tuning?
Now when you look at the turbo diesel models audi has is it possible to get that turbo to fit in my non turbo a4 because obviously they fit a turbo in a 3.0 model?
A: Visit Audiworld and ask the A4 forum
Q: How much is regular maintenance (cost of tires, oil change, tune-up, brakes...etc) for an Audi A4?
I am in the market for a car and the Audi is catching my eye. Just trying to get as much numerical info as possible....please help
A: Tires, depends on the brand, found mine for 250 for all 4.
Oil change will run you about 80
Major tune-ups are around 1000, water pump, belts ....
Brakes just cost me 200 for all pads and rotors
If you look online you can find most things relatively cheap.

A: the best place to get these answers is on AUdi world the drain on the 2.8 is on the drivers side of the oil pan you have to remove the plastic shielt first to get to it. as for advise audi world is your best bet
Q: What is the techno song in an Audi commercial? And it's not "Streets of Tomorrow." It's a bass heavy tune...
It's driving me crazy. I want to try to find it and purchase it, but I can't find anything on the internet relating to it. The commercial is highlighting the Quattro technology and shows a variety of different Audi cars, including multiple shots of rally cars. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated :)
A: Try either of these..................
1. "streets of tomorow" by carla vallet.
2. http://www.emp3world.com/mp3/21481/Angra/Streets%20Of%20Tomorrow
Q: Does anyone know the name of the Audi theme tune ? - The girl who sings it has such a haunting voice.?

Q: I can start my 89 audi turbo, but when I cut it off it won't start for another 2 hours?
I've change the crankcase ventilation hose, gotten a tune up and keep a half a tank of gas. Is it a sensor?
A: have you changed the Coil? thats the only thing i can think of right now sorry
Q: how does tuning kits work?
i want a tuning kit for my a4 1.9tdi audi 2002,iam not sure how they work or if they are any good.
Is the car alot harder on fuel with them?
thanks for your help.
A: if you mean a little box that plugs in and increases the power then they are only available on the newer engines. you can have the tdi chipped and no matter what you do it will use more fuel, you can also wind out the governor a little to increase how many revs it gets to and also you can wind the boost up from the turbo the thing of it is it will be pointless having a deisel for the fuel economy if you do anything like that because it will use more deisel than a petrol uses petrol plus deisel is more expensive.
Q: Does anyone know the cost of a tune up for a 1996 audi a4 is?
It has 93,000 miles
A: You could
call the local
Audi dealership,
but I would estimate
that it would be around
$700. Is it time to trade-in?
That may be something you
might want to consider. European
cars are some of the most expensive
cars to up-keep for repairs or tune-ups.

Q: Anyone else have an audi a4 1.8t that replaced their ignition control module and became faster?
It seems like my a4 is way faster now and the turbo seems way better tuned?!
A: Ignition control module yes when they go out you car will run on 3 cylinders instead of 4. Get it hitting on all 4 again you will feel the diff. I'm not quite sure what the other guy is talking about the ECU or computer is not a Ignition control module.
Q: Is becoming a Bmw, Audi or toyota Automotive technician good choice?? good salary?
I love cars. Its my hobby to tune cars. I was thinking to get my degree and apply for BMW , AUDI, OR TOYOTA OR NISSAN..company as a certified engineer.... do they pay good??? and is it fun to learn?
A: Well there is good news for you and bad news. The good news is that some schools have manufacturer specific training(I'm in NY and went to a General/Toyota school) which can be really helpful if your looking to stick with a single manufacturer. I went for the general program to get a taste of everything. I loved every bit of it, but most of your learning will occur in the work world after school. The down side is that it is very hard to break into a company and become an automotive engineer. It is indeed an in demand position but it is rediculously hard to get into. I myself, as well and many of my friends have tried and the work is overwhelming and the payoff isn't that great. So many people want to do this job that only the best of the best actually get the oppurtunity. Think about it, if your GM, the largest vehicle manufacturer in the world do you really want somebody who has good skills as opposed to those 1 or 2 people who are just geniouses?
The automotive market is a constantly growing field and new techs are always in demand. It's great if you want to do something different every day...and I'm sure if your like me you'd enjoy doing something with cars everyday since its your pasion.
My advice to you: Go to school and work your tail off. Dont let anything stand in the way and always strive to do your best and hopefully it will pay off! As for me, I spent some years in the field and I am now back at school so I can teach high school students about cars and engines. Best wishes.
