Q: Can I fit alloy wheels from an Audi onto my Nissan?
I have a 1995 Nissan Primera with 4 stud alloy wheels and I want to know if wheels from a 1998 Audi A4 would fit straight onto my car without having to make any modifications. Any ideas?
Both the Audi wheels and the Nissan are 4 stud.
The wheel itself should fit under the arch, I need to know if the hubs the wheel fit onto and the distance of the wheel bolts are the same on both cars.
A: Audi wheels used to have 3 different stud patterns:
4-stud - 100mm PCD
4-stud - 112mm PCD
5-stud - 112mm PCD
I'm not sure if these are still the norm.
You'll need to measure it on both your car and on the Audi wheels. PCD is easy to measure on a 4-stud wheel - measure from the outside of one bolt hole to the inside of the opposite one.
You'll also need to know if the wheel offset is the same, or you'll be putting different stresses onto your steering and suspension components which could lead to a catastrophic failure. The offset is the measurement in millimetres between the wheel centreline and the mounting face, and will be stamped or embossed on the wheel, usually on the outer face near the bolt holes, underneath the centre cap if there is one, and is preceded by the letters "ET" (e.g. ET38 is a 38mm offset).
Most Audi alloy wheels are made by BBS or Ronal. The same design of wheel may be available from the manufacturer in a size to suit your car even if that size doesn't suit any Audi.
Q: What are the 4 companies that are repesented by the 4 interlocked wheels in the Audi Trademark?
A: The Audi emblem is four overlapping rings that represent the Auto Union. The Audi emblem symbolizes Audi amalgamation of Audi with DKW, Horch and Wanderer
the first ring represents Audi
the second represents DKW
third is Horch
the fourth and last ring Wanderer........

Q: AWD AUDI got towed by its rear wheels after guy crashed into it?
Being All wheel drive wont towing it on 2 wheels mess up drive shafts? its an automatic he did drop it in neutral .. i no when i had road side assist. come they asked if it is RWD FWD OR AWD.. honestly i think the tow driver is an idiot but i might be wrong.. any body got a clue if its ok to take the AWD by its rear wheels?
A: Are you sure it was towed down the road with the front wheels on the ground and the rear tires on a cradle? That would be very odd. The tow driver would be crazy not to put dollies under the front tires. Yes it can do damage. Unless he put the rear end on a sling and left the rear tires hang free, then it still wouldn't be ideal, but it probably wouldn't do any damage.
To answer your question, no. It's generally NOT ok to tow an AWD car with one set of wheels turning and the other one not turning.
Q: My Audi A4s wheels are always loaded in brake dust. Is there a way to limit this?
A: yes you can limit your break dust by using ceramic pads
Q: Audi TT upsizing wheels ????
I have a 2002 audi TT with 225/45-17 wheels on it, and I've been thinking upsizing to the RS6 replica wheels
( 19x8 5-100 30S wheels) but my question is if the new wheels will fit my car without compromising the ride and handling?
Will I need spacers? or any additional thing?
Please help..
Thanks.
A: They fit but you will need 35 series tires and that will sacrifice ride quality. Handling and looks will improve though. You might not notice but your car will be slower in a straight line because you will be adding rotational weight and a lot of it.
Q: will audi tt wheels fit my 96 ford probe?
A: best thing to do would be to go to tirerack.com put in your probe and check the bolt pattern, and do the same with the audi, if they show up the same then its all good. if you will be buying these rims... if the bolt pattern matches, try one on first and see if it hits the caliper or if it rubs the strut when you spin the tire. depending on the size of the rim and the tire you might have to get thinner profile tires to cleat the strut where the spring sits.
good luck
Q: are '02 "17 Audi A4 wheels a good fit for a '02 VW Passat?
A: Sure will.
Good luck.
Q: Where can I buy genuine Volkswagen/Audi Alloy wheels?
I am looking to replace my wheels on my VW Golf 1.9 TDi (105PS) S.
I was looking for the 18 inch Golf Mk5 R32 alloys like these:

I'm from the UK, but thanks everyone for the answers.
I'll try ebay but i'm just worried about the quality and finish of replicas.
A: If you don't have an R32, why bother buying genuine R32 alloy wheels?
You could buy replica ones that look identical except for very small details that no-one would notice anyway, which you could get for about €700 with tyres included.
Genuine alloys alone could cost €1500 and that wouldn't even include tyres to put on them!
Just search "replica alloys" in google and start from there...
Q: Where can I get my car alloy wheels chromed?
I have recently bought a set of wheels for my Audi A3 and wanted to know if they can be chrome plated and where I can get it done?
A: You can nickel plate them I think, but chrome plating requires steel.. not the alloy in the wheels
Q: Can I put a non-airbag steering wheel on my audi?
Hi, I have an M-registered (1995) audi 80 avant. It has a (rather worn) 4-spoke leather-bound airbag steering wheel. I'd like to replace it with a three-spoke leather sports one. I understand that I should disconnect the battery and wait half-an-hour before attempting anything (to avoid airbag detonation), but a few questions remain:
1. How do I ensure indicator cancelling continues to work?
2. Can I prevent airbag light coming on? I've seen Momo wheel bosses for this purpose for other cars, but not for mine.
3. Will it pass its MOT without airbag?
Your thoughts, please!
A: there are kits for that but don't do it your self if they go off it can injure you or cause a lot of damage to your car.
the kits have a sensor that thinks there is still a airbag so the light stays off and the passenger bag still works
Q: Alloy Wheels for my Audi?
I want to get some alloys for my '95 Audi A4 1.6SE.
I've been looking on eBay so far and have seen some pretty good deals.
What I really need to know is how do I know how big I can go with them? Can I get 18's or will they have to be 17's?
All help gratefully received.
A: You can get 18's if you want. Your rim size is 7Jx16 and your tire size is 205/55-R16. Your goal is to change your wheel and tire combination so that the total circumference of the new combination is relatively equal to your old wheels. For instance, changing from your 205/55-R16 to 225/40-R18 will cause your speedometer to indicate a speed that is 0.844% slower than actual speed. This is considered acceptable (should be kept within 3% of actual speed), but just tell yourself the smaller the discrepancy the better. Use the tire size calculator i linked in the source list below.
There are other factors to consider when it comes to fit. Your rim should have a 5x112 bolt pattern which is common on Audi and Mercedes but not much else. (Check to make certain this is right). You will also need to know what offset you have to determine if you need a hub spacer so your new wheels won't impact your brake hardware as you drive. Bolt pattern and offset measurements are more important than your rim diameter. Everyone makes an 18 inch rim, but not everyone makes it with the same bolt and offset as your Sal.
Previous poster is right... lighter wheels tend to be better, BUT it's not going to make your car slow to have slightly heavier wheels. The 1.6SE is a little lean on power but a few pounds of rim are not going to make any noticeable difference at all. What you will notice is that with a lower profile tire, you will get less natural shock absorption and you will tend to "feel" more of the road as you drive. This can be good or bad depending on your personal preference. That said, your choice of tire will also be important. I factored in a wider tire in the above calculation because honestly, if you're going to upgrade, you might as well really upgrade. You will probably need to step up to a wider rim like 8 or 8.5 inches to hold a wider tire. Keep in mind, lower profile tires will likely cost more than your stock 16s.
You don't have to buy OZ. To tell you the truth, OZ is a good company and they make good rims, you can get other rims for less if you look, and there are certainly more expensive rims out there too. Don't lock onto one brand. You want to find a quality rim that is HUBCENTRIC with a strong finish and a good warranty. Most alloy rims are "lightweight" compared to standard steel wheels. Other materials like magnesium promise lighter weight, more durability, etc. etc. but honestly, as long as you don't go with steel don't focus on the weight.
Finally... tires. Road noise, water/snow/mud traction, speed/temp/treadwear ratings, warranty, speed rating. Research ratings and customer reviews on tires for the size you decide on. It can make this wheel upgrade a complete bust if you end up buying a crappy tire.
CONCLUSION:
-Stepping up your rims to a plus2 18 inch wheel is a great way to upgrade the look of your A4. It will also be a good opportunity to add more traction surface with a wider tire.
-Wider lower profile tires cost more money. And tires are as important a factor if not more important than the wheels when you decide to upsize your wheels.
-You can most definitely step up to an 18 inch wheel. 17s too. Just make sure you check the bolt pattern so you know it will mount to your car and check the offset so you don't break your brakes.
Best of luck!
Q: Both BMW and Audi has the wheel thingy?
BMW 5 and 7 has iDrive system, and Audi A6 and A8 has that "wheel" thingy too. Who developed it first? BMW says they developed it before Audi did. BMW also insists theirs is easier than Audi's. BMW emphasizes that Audi's wheel thingy still has a few buttons around the "wheel"
by the way what is the exact name for the wheel thingy?
A: BMW first made the system. It is called iDrive. Audi's is called MMI. Most people like MMI better.

Q: Help, Chicago Winter is shredding my wheels!?
I have aluminum wheels on my audi s4 with low profile pzero 18" tires. I've bent every wheel this winter in a pothole even though I've been careful. Is there a manufactuer of steel wheels out there taht are more durable but still good looking?
A: Go to the tire store and explain it to them and they will be able to help there are alot of makers of wheels out there. You might think about putting snow tires with steel rims on during the winter. This what alot and I mean alot of people do to save there wheels from damage in the winter months. They are not pretty but will save you in the long run and you get extra traction from the studs.
