Q: How to get my used AUDI Certified (from AUDI) and how much does it cost?

A: Go to audi and ask them what it will cast. you will probably have to get it fully inspected , Engine, Body, and interior. Audi is not going to certified your car without knowing its in great all around condition. Good luck.

Q: Audi Certified Technician in Wisconsin, near Milwaukee?
I need someone who wouldn't rip me off.

A: The two main dealerships with service are Concours (north side) or International Autos - Hwy 100. I have a BMW but I go to Concours. Obviously it would be slightly different for you but I've always heard that Concours has better service (soft skills) than IA.

Q: Should I get a Certified Preowned Audi A4?
if it breaks down on me, will I be covered all costs?

A: I would get it. I love my 1998 A4 and yes the warranty will cover your issues.

Q: Is there a reason every TT I look at has low miles but isn't certified?
I see Audi dealerships with plenty of everything certified except for TTs. They have TTs with similiar or even lower miles in some cases than their other vehicles, but not certified. Is there any reason for this?

A: are you looking at cars that are older than 2004. their is an age limit on certified cars. also they are sports cars and people tend to tune them which would not be covered also many people who are buying them are planning on tuning them so they don't want to pay for a warrenty that they are going to void in a few months anyway (and no matter what a dealer tells you, you are paying for the warrenty its added into the cost of the car).

Q: Audi Transmission?
I've got a '00 A6 2.7T and the reverse seems to slip a bit, I had a boot replaced that was throwing the shifting out of whack and now I'm noticing that it shifts sort of hard in the forward gears. I've had a few mechanics look at it and some believe I need a new tranny, because, I guess, if the reverse is going, then the forward gearing starts to go, which may be what I'm experiencing. Still others suggest I may need a tranny flush and that may fix it, the car has 121,000 miles on it. I've heard that it can be bad to do a tranny flush on it, seems it has lifetime tranmission fluid, and some people have said that the tranny should not be going out this soon. What do you think? Right now I've got a mechanic looking into getting a remanufactured tranny for it, he says he did tests on it and that a flush would not help. I'll add that he is not a certified Audi mechanic. It does just fine in the "manual mode".

A: The computer may be shot. How is it in tiptronic mode? You know, manual mode? Also, have the computer checked on the gearbox, that may be shot.

Q: Is this a good deal for an Audi TT?
I've owned an audi since I first started driving but my car is about to kick the bucket so I want to get a new one. I found an ad for a 2001 Audi TT with 118k miles on it and its a 5 speed. it has 180 hp and from what it looks like there is no cosmetic damage and no real visible wear. Here is the rest of the ad "The engine runs flawlessly. The timing belt and waterpump as well as Haldex service have been done within the last 20k miles. The car has a couple mods which include: GIAC 93 Octane Tune, 225 Dual Exhaust + Valance, VDO 52mm Boost Gauge, Forge Diverter Valve, Professionally painted black roof, Hankook tires, Xenon Lights, 20% tints. This TT has only been serviced by a certified Audi dealership with full service records. Car runs amazing." What do you think? He is asking $7500 ** I understand maintenance costs of Audis... I had a new transmission put in mine, a new bumper, and a new flex pipe... Aside from maintenance costs, is this a good deal? To FURTHER extend my details. I am not worried about maintenance costs... I have a 98 A4 Quattro right now with more than a quarter of a million miles on it... Plus my friend is an audi mechanic so I'm not putting costs ASIDe i'm just not worrying about them... As I said before, I have been driving an audi since I got my license 5 years ago.

A: Whoa!.. Don't listen to the pure haters of Audi who obviously don‘t have a clue as to what they are talking about! Thanks to my parents, I (too) have been driving either an Audi, MB or BMW since I was 16 years old... To me, anybody who is looking to purchase an Audi has some sense that maintenance costs are going to be higher than American domestic automobiles... At 16, my sister and I drove my mom's A8 to school everyday. My mom's car was immaculate and although we thought mom's car was alright, we wanted our own. My mom (only) serviced her auto at the dealership, as per the Audi maintenance schedule. When my mom traded in her Audi 2 years ago, the sales manager told her that he was stunned at how well she took care of it and that he remembered the day he sold it to her. My point is that if you take care of something and properly maintain it, you'd be surprised at how long something can last. It sounds like the 2001 Audi TT you are looking at is an excellent deal, especially if they have the maintenance records to boot!.. That year was a beautiful model!.. I presently drive an 2008 Audi A4/B7 2.0T with a Stasis mod and love it. I am a firm believer in paying for proper maintenance. Sadly, many of the negative people I encounter about Audi have never really owned one or have owned one and not properly maintained it because they were trying to get by on the cheap. These are the same individuals who wonder why they developed problems when they used cheap parts, lubricants, fuels, tires and missed service intervals!.. Audi automobiles are not for everyone. The way I was raised to view the purpose of a vehicle, it would be hard to purchase a vehicle simply because it's less expensive and had cheaper maintenance. Safety, design and workmanship are paramount to me. Good luck on your decision!.. *,..,* P.S. As far as value, take a look at what the Yahoo Autos website has on the 2001 Audi TT... In addition to maintenance records, you say it looks like there is no cosmetic damage/physical wear...as I mentioned, excellent deal!.. Q: Is this Audi overpriced? I am in Highschool?
I am in highschool and am looking at a 1997 Audi A4 1.8t with 137,000 ,according to Kelly Blue Book it is worth around $5.5k and the dealer is asking $5.995k and not willing to bargain. I am not sure if Kelly Blue Book is right so here is the link for KBB and the car. I get the car paid for but gas and repairs i have to cover (the car comes with a warranty on transmission, engine, and steering axles.) http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=251472627&dealer_id=100015004&car_year=1997&model=&num_records=25&systime=&make3=BMW&make2=AUDI&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=50&marketZipError=false&model3=3_SERIESCLASS_SERIES&model2=A4&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=ACURA&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=46567&advanced=&end_year=2009&doors=&transmission=&max_price=8000&cardist=13 http://cm.syndication.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?aolwr;794693;&;+r;&;Audi;1997%20A4&12;AU;AA&&& its got a warranty though for powertrain will that cover me?

A: The real question is whether you want to buy an Audi with high mileage. There are only a few dealers and independent shops to work on them and they are very expensive to repair. Also, older European cars tend to have electrical problems. And then there's a turbo that can fail if the dealer can't prove regular oil changes ($2k plus). I've know 2 people that have bought older Audis and both were money pits. By a more modest, newer vehicle. A Japanese car will be the most reliable. Hope this helps!

Q: Do Audi's run well with high mileage?
I'm looking to by a used car for ~10,000 and came across a 2000 Audi TT 1.8T Coupe with 139,815 miles. do these cars typically run well with so many miles? how long can i expect it to run for? here is a link to the car: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=224273633&dealer_id=395835&car_year=2000&marketZipError=false&awsp=false&search_type=both&num_records=25&keywordsfyc=&make=AUDI&transmission=&model=TT&distance=100&make2=&address=45231&default_sort=priceDESC&advanced=&certified=&max_mileage=&max_price=12000&sort_type=priceDESC&min_price=&body_code=0&end_year=2008&keywordsrep=&color=&start_year=1981&drive=&search_lang=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&engine=&fuel=&doors=&style_flag=1&cardist=7

A: As an ex UK VW group employee, I know of that EU3 1.8T doing over 200,000 miles comfortably. Until it was replaced by the EU4 (and equally brilliant 2.0TFSI you find in the new Golf GTI and the new shape TT), it was one of the widest used engines in the group - with all 4 brands (Audi, Seat, Skoda and VW) using it in a variety of both sporty and luxury vehicles. The car you are looking at is the 2wd (no quattro) version, which in that vehicle produced 180hp. Bear in mind this engine comfortably produced 250hp in the quattro sport vehicle, so it is hardly strained in this car. Buying a high mileage audi is never a bad idea, but DO be careful. Walk away quickly from the vehicle if it does not have a full and on time service record/history, with ideally all work carried out by a main dealer. Be wary of a modified vehicle, as this to me implies undue pressure was put on the engine. Make sure you get some kind of warranty with a high mileage vehicle - negotiate this with the garage, and if necessary pay the premium, it will be worth it - as in my understanding (as a Brit) VAG parts are expensive in the US. Also, check the air con works - if I recall correctly this was somewhat of a problem on this vehicle. This looks like a good vehicle, although do bear in mind all I've said - if it all looks good, go for it! It's a great fun car to drive (I own one, granted with only 11k miles!), nice and easy to park, and the boot space (or trunk space) is really useful. Drop me a note if you'd like to know anything else! Tim

Q: 1997 Audi A4 1.8t for a first car?
I have asked some questions about Audi in general and i have heard that it tends to have a lot of problems. I am just wondering if the 1997 Audi A4 1.8t tends to have more or less problems than most Audis? Is $5.5k a good price for it with 137k miles? Here is a link to the car. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=251472627&dealer_id=100015004&model=&make3=MIT&make2=DODGE&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&fuel=&search_type=both&distance=25&model3=LANCERMITS&model2=DODNEON&make=AUDI&keywords_display=&color=&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&address=46567&advanced=&end_year=2009&doors=&transmission=&max_price=9000

A: I know you are going to buy a car like this because you want an Audi and they are expensive. So go get it. The local Kia dealer is selling brand new 2007 models for 50% of MSRP with a 5 year warranty. A brand new car with warranty for the same price as an 11 year old Audi. But you are only young once so go Audi..

Q: I was rear ended and I'm wondering how this will effect the resale of my car...?
I own a 2002 Audi A4 and was rear-ended this morning. I have low milage and I have payed big bucks to have all of my services and required maintenances through Audi, planning to sell it as Certified Pre-Owned. Now that my car has been in an , I'm thinking that I may not be able to do this now. How should I handle this with her insurance company, and will they care? How will I ever sell my car now? Seems like it's going to cost me. I guess I can just hope that it's totaled, but I haven't gotten an estimate yet...Any advice is much appreciated! Yes...I did go to the ER this morning and got x-rays. I'm fine except for whiplash. Thanks for the info!

A: The vehicle will not be Certified Pre-Owned, and will come up on Carfax. All MFG's require vehicles to be free from any accident to be Certified. (I worked For BMW and other Dealerships). The insurance company will not care. Most states do not allow for depreciated value due to accident, but SOME do allow, you will have to check your state laws on the subject.
